I’ve taught Management Communication at Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business for over 40 years, helping MBA students and executives find their voice under pressure: in the boardroom, at the podium, and across cultures.

But my approach to communication comes more from experience than theory. I’m also a working abstract painter and run my own gallery in Ithaca, NY. I’ve chaired a County Legislature, founded a nationally recognized festival of science and art, and currently serve on the board of The Ithaca Voice, a local nonprofit newsroom.

That range is the point. Leadership isn’t a formula-it’s a creative act. The same instincts that let me balance color, risk and restraint on a canvas are the instincts I bring to helping a team find clarity or a leader find their authentic voice in a hard conversation.

I don’t believe in a right brain/left brain divide. You’re not just a “consultant” or an “analyst”; you’re a complicated package and the goal is to help you access all of it.
